< Jade Lotus Pond >
A bamboo motif woven jacquard overlayed with digital drawings of lotus leaves- a series of observational studies tracing the elegant curl of each leaf and the shifting textures that emerge through every stage of its life cycle. Blossoming from illustrated lotus ponds, the leaves rise from landscapes inspired by the poetic language of traditional Chinese ink paintings, reimagined through delicate mark making with graphic pencil.

< In collaboration with Anita Li >
A dramatic floral sculpture composed of preserved botanicals to juxtapose the fitted corset dress. Echoing the lotus leaf forms featured throughout the dress, the sculpture combines dried glixia, broom bloom, nigella pods, delphinium, echinops, cortaderia and lagurus in black tones accented with vibrant amethyst shades .

An explosive arrangement of preserved oat in dyed in vibrant fuchsia, the botanics were sculpted into a wearable floral form that balances delicacy with bold energy, an organic counterpart to the flowing lotus print.

Katie's initial drawing studies of lotus leaves are translated into sculptural silk taffeta ruffles, each piece individually hand-painted with different textural details of lotus leaves interpreted from the original drawings. Draped with a softness evoking an elegant curl and quiet metamorphosis of lotus leaves through every stage of life.
Completing the look, a luminous silk chiffon skirt delicately woven with gold threads shimmers with every movement, reflecting light like rippling water.
